Some weddings just have that effortless magic—where everything flows, laughter fills the air, and the whole day feels like a dream. This wedding was exactly that. From the breath-taking ceremony at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens to the most incredible tepee reception in the Dorset hills, every moment was pure joy.
A Ceremony in a Hidden Paradise
Tucked away in the lush, exotic beauty of Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, this couple exchanged vows under the open sky, surrounded by towering greenery and the soft rustle of leaves. It felt like stepping into a secret garden, full of warmth, love, and the kind of relaxed energy that makes for the best weddings.
After the ceremony, we wandered through the vast, magical grounds of the gardens, soaking up every incredible backdrop. Eventually, we made our way to the highest point, where we were greeted with stunning sea views of Dorset. Now, full transparency—I’d only had a baby about 10 weeks before, so carrying my camera gear up that hill wasn’t my quickest ascent! 😅 But wow, was it worth it. Standing up there, with the coastline stretching endlessly, it was one of those moments where you just have to stop and take it all in.
(Side note: This year, in my much fitter body, I’d gladly do it all again—but maybe with slightly less huffing and puffing!)
The Most Beautiful Family Home in the Dorset Hills
From the gardens, we travelled to what might just be the most stunning family home I’ve ever seen. Nestled deep in the Dorset countryside, this private estate was the perfect setting for a relaxed, festival-style celebration.
Picture this: tepees glowing with fairy lights, a live band setting the vibe, and guests kicking back, enjoying the summer evening. The whole place had this intimate, laid-back energy—like the best kind of garden party but on a whole other level.
And then? A spontaneous dip in the fresh water pool—because why not?! This wedding was all about embracing the moment, and nothing says carefree celebration quite like guests jumping into a pool mid-reception!
An Epic Band to End the Night
As the evening rolled in, another amazing live band took to the stage, and the dance floor exploded. You can always count on live music to bring the energy, and this crew absolutely delivered. Watching everyone come together, dancing under the tepee lights, was the perfect end to a perfect day.
